एक समय की बात हैं एक रियासत में एक राजा हुआ करता था | राजा के राज्य में सभीलोग ख़ुशी से रहते थे | राज्य खुशियों से भरा हुआ था | लेकिन राजा बहुत लोभी था | वो हमेशा सोचता रहता था काश उसके पास कोई ऐसी शक्ति होता जिसके मदद से वो बहुत सारा सोना प्राप्त करता | एक दिन राजा रात में सोया हुआ था की तभी उसको एक सपना आया सपने में उसने देखा की एक परी उसके सपने में आयी है और राजा से बोल रही थी की उसको जो चाहिए वो उससे मांग ले | राजा ने सोचा की परी से बहुत सोना मांग लिया जाए | लेकिन राजा ने सोचा अगर वो सोना मांगेगा तो वो एक दिन खत्म हो जायेगा तो क्यो न ऐसा कुछ माँगा जाए जिससे उसे हमेशा सोना मिलता रहे |

राजा ने परी से बोला अगर वो उससे खुश हैं तो उसे एक ऐसा वरदान दे जिससे वो किसी भी चीज को छुए वो सोने का हो जाये |

परी बोली अगर तुम एक बार जो वरदान मांग लोगे फिर हम उसे बदल नहीं सकते हैं | राजा ने ख़ुशी से बोला की उसे मंजूर हैं | फिर क्या था परी ने राजा को वरदान दे दिया | अब राजा बहुत खुश हो गया और सुबह उठते ही सबसे पहले वो दौर – दौर के सभी चीजों को छूने लगा राजा के छूते ही सभी चीजे सोने का हो गया | अब राजा इतना खुश हो गया उसके ख़ुशी के ठिकाना ही नहीं था | जब राजा ने सबकुछ को छू लिया अब उसको भूख लग गई लेकिन ये क्या जैसे ही वो खाना खाने के लिए खाने को छुआ खाना भी सोने का हो गया | अब राजा परेशान हो गया की अब क्या किया जाए |

राजा का एक बेटा था वो दौड़ के अपने पिता के पास आने लगा राजा उससे दूर भागने लगा और अपने बेटे को बोलने लगा बेटा मुझसे दूर रहो लेकिन बेटा राजा के पास आ गया फिर क्या था राजा का बेटा भी सोने का हो गया | अब राजा बहुत जोर – जोर से रोने लगा ये क्या हो गया | अब राजा को अपने किये पर बहुत पछतावा हो रहा था वो अब परी से विनती करने लगा की उसे सोना नहीं चाहिए उसे अपना बेटा वापस चाहिए | परी को राजा पर दया आ गई वो सामने प्रकट हो गई और राजा से बोली देखो ज्यादा लोभ नहीं करना चाहिए | परी ने राजा से वो शक्ति वापस ले लिया | राजा को अपने गलती का अहसास हो गया था | इसलिए ज्यादा लोभ नहीं करना चाहिए |

Once upon a time there was a king in a kingdom. Everyone lived happily in the king’s kingdom. The kingdom was full of happiness. But the king was very greedy. He always kept thinking that he wished he had some power with the help of which he could get a lot of gold. One day the king was sleeping at night when he had a dream. In the dream he saw that an angel had come in his dream and was asking the king to ask for whatever he wanted. The king thought of asking a lot of gold from the angel. But the king thought that if he asks for gold, it will end one day, so why not ask for something so that he can always get gold.

The king told the angel that if she is happy with him then give him a boon that anything he touches will turn into gold.

The angel said, once you ask for a boon, we cannot change it. The king happily said that he agreed. Then what happened, the angel gave a boon to the king. Now the king became very happy and the first thing he did when he woke up in the morning was to touch all the things around him. As soon as the king touched them, all the things turned to gold. Now the king became so happy that there was no limit to his happiness. When the king touched everything, he felt hungry, but as soon as he touched the food to eat, the food also turned into gold. Now the king was worried about what to do next.

The king had a son. He started running towards his father. The king started running away from him and told his son to stay away from me, but the son came to the king. Then what happened was that the king’s son also turned into gold. Now the king started crying loudly, what happened? Now the king was feeling very remorseful for his actions and he started pleading with the angel that he should not sleep, he wanted his son back. The angel felt pity on the king, she appeared in front of him and said to the king, look, one should not be too greedy. The angel took back that power from the king. The king had realized his mistake. Therefore one should not be too greedy.
