Lal Bahadur Shastri was the son of India. Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was the second Prime Minister of independent India. He was born on 2 October 1904. Lal Bahadur Shastri was born in Mughalsarai near Varanasi.

Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was a true and great son of the country who dedicated his life for patriotism.

Lal Bahadur Shastri, who had thoughts like Mahatma Gandhi, is the best identity of Indian culture.

Along with Gandhi Jayanti, Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti is also celebrated in different parts of the country.

He always gave priority to discharge his duties honestly. Lal Bahadur Shastri was not really a politician but a great public servant. Considering public interest as paramount, he worked fearlessly for the country with a simple and true heart. He is a role model not only for the people but also for the politicians of today.

Like Gandhi Jayanti, Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti is also celebrated in schools, colleges and offices across the country. On this day many children in schools wear Gandhiji’s dress and many children wear Lal Bahadur Shastri’s dress and chant his famous slogan Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.

Shastri ji was a true Gandhian who spent his entire life with simplicity and used it in the service of the poor. He was an active participant in all the important programs and movements of the Indian freedom struggle and as a result had to stay in jails many times. The non-cooperation movement of 1921, the Dandi March of 1930 and the Quit India Movement of 1942 are notable in the movements of the freedom struggle in which he played an important role.

This day of October 2 is very important for us Indians because two great people of our country were born on this day. Those who made their important contribution in the freedom and development of the country, so this day is a day of double celebration for us.
